DAY 1

Assistance on arrival at Indira Gandhi International airport

Arrive Delhi, the Political Capital of India. Delhi is history, and the monuments are tablets on which the history is written. Every conqueror did his best to possess Delhi and make it his capital. It is not a single city but a combination of eight cities that have been established here from as early as 900 BC to 1930 when the British completed the construction of New Delhi as the capital of Imperial India. It is therefore not surprising that the monuments of Delhi successfully mirror the development of the architectural styles in the country. On arrival, once you have completed the Immigration formalities and collected your baggage, please proceed to the arrival lounge where you will be welcomed by the TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS executive holding a placard who will assist you with a transfer.

    DAY 2

    Approx 4 hrs Walking

    After breakfast a tour briefing by the Tour Manager before we start the walking tour of Old Delhi. This tour will lead you through Dariba Kalan (silver market), Kinari Bazaar (wedding market), Spice Market and Paranthewali Galli. You'll also see Ganj Sahib Gurdwara, Jama Masjid (Delhi’s famous mosque), Temples, all mingled in together. Lunch relish Mughlai cuisine in a local restaurant. Later Drive past India Gate, President’s House and Parliament House.

    DAY 3

    Approx 5 Hrs. walking

    Morning after breakfast we join a Delhi City Walk run by Salaam Baalak Trust. Not only will you be learning about Delhi street life on this tour, but you will also be helping a good cause. The tour, through the streets of the inner city of Paharganj and the area around New Delhi railway station, is led by underprivileged children who have trained as guides. We later visit the historic village of Mehrauli, built around a Sufi shrine. Each monument in the area has a story to tell. Finally, visit Qutub Minar a World Heritage site, this is the tallest brick minaret in the world.

    DAY 4

    Train to Varanasi

    In time assistance on departure and transfer to railway station in Delhi to board the train to Varanasi. Abode of Lord Shiva and Parvati, the origins of Varanasi are yet unknown. Ghats of Varanasi is a natural supplement to the concept of divinity and is known as the city that liberates the soul from the human body to the ultimate. The city is also renowned for its rich tapestry of music, arts, crafts, and education.

    Assistance on arrival at the railway station and transfer to hotel after some rest, we start our walking tour through the traditional business square and centre of the old city, where you will get to look inside the shops and feel the bustle of traditional neighbourhood life. We explore the silk weaving village observing the art of silk weaving and shop for beautiful souvenirs. Be guided to the Dashashwamedh Ghat and witness the breath-taking evening Ganga Aarti ceremony (oil lamp prayer).

    DAY 5

    Approx. 3 hrs walking

    An early morning start for a heritage walk immerse yourself in the city's hidden temples, lanes, ghats, bazaars, and unusual attractions such as the flower market and Ayurvedic herb market and sunrise boat ride on the Ganges to witness the perpetual movement of the pilgrims on the steps. After breakfast enjoy an excursion to Sarnath where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon at the deer park after his enlightenment. Vegetarian Thali meal will be our dinner.

    DAY 6

    Travel to Lucknow

    Assistance on departure and travel to Lucknow, the aristocratic city of the Nawabs which still resounds with the reminiscence of the royal heritage and luxurious life. Lucknow is an intriguing blend of old world charm, beautiful architecture, courteous people, warm hospitality, and rich heritage.

    Approx. 3 Hrs. walking (Culinary walk)

    Assistance on arrival and check in at hotel. In the evening Culinary Walk, through Bawarchi Tola (chef’s colony), for the want of discovering the Awadhi Cuisine. We take you for this evening walk and make you hop in, hop out of the traditional roadside eateries, making you try the best that is on the menu.

    DAY 7

    Approx. 3 Hrs. walking (Heritage walk)

    After breakfast enjoy a guided heritage walk that covers Teele Wali Masjid, the landmark Bara Imambara, Gol Darwaza and Akbari Darwaza gates, lively alleyways of Chowk Bazaar, and flower seller lane. In the afternoon we will explore the traditional bazaar area on foot and visit craft workshops for zardosi and chikan embroidery, silver varq (foil) making and block printing. These vibrant bazaars sell everything from jewellery and old coins to kites and Attar (perfumes). Dinner enjoy Awadhi cuisine the cooking pattern of Lucknow.

    DAY 8

    Travel to Agra

    Morning assistance on departure and travel to Agra, home to India's most famous landmark, the Taj Mahal. A poem of white marble, the Taj is described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love.

    Approx. 3 Hrs. walking (Agra Fort and Itmad Ud Daulah)

    Assistance on arrival and afternoon visit the impressive 16th century Agra Fort a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is admired for its splendour, architectural beauty and magnificent halls, and Itmad-Ud-Daulah mausoleum that will stun you with ‘Pietra Dura’ inlay and lattice marble screens.

    DAY 9

    Approx. 3.5 Hrs. walking (Taj Mahal and Oriental market)

    Early morning visit the Taj Mahal, the world’s greatest monument of love and devotion with its superb craftsmanship of semi-precious stones inlaid into the marble in beautiful patterns. After breakfast discovers Agra by foot, the journey winds its way through the narrow lanes of Agra, where people can see the grand old havelis, the oriental markets of Kinari Bazaar, Lohar Gali and spice's street.

    DAY 10

    Travel to Jaipur

    Assistance on departure and travel to Jaipur, the first planned city of India, is a treasure-trove of culture, art and history. Famous for its color, lifestyle and Rajasthani cuisine. It is a city exuding royal heritage and extravagant richness.

    Approx. 2.5 Hrs. walking (Heritage walk)

    Assistance on arrival and check in at the hotel. In the afternoon we'll be introduced to the city on a guided heritage walk. Designed to reveal some of this walled city's hidden architectural gems as well as its street life. Our walk begins from the Hanuman Temple in Chandpole market which includes many havelis, old temples and artisans' workshops.

    DAY 11

    Approx 3.5 Hrs walking (Sightseeing & Bazaar)

    Before heading out of Jaipur this morning we will drive to the Hawa Mahal which is famously known as the 'Palace of the Winds for a photo stop. We then head on to the town of Amer, 11 kilometres from Jaipur and visit the Amber Fort. On our walking route, we meet the local Meena tribal community who live here and learn about their daily lives. Our walk ends at Sagar Lake where we can see the mysterious 'floating palace' of Jal Mahal. Returning to Jaipur we will visit the splendid City Palace and 18th Century observatory of Jantar Mantar.

    DAY 12

    Travel to Jodhpur

    Morning assistance on departure and travel to Jodhpur. Today you will experience the feeling of travelling back in time with a journey to Jodhpur. Also known as the "The Blue City", and "Gateway to Thar", Jodhpur is famous for its Mehrangarh fort, blue houses, temples, sweets and snacks. Apart from the fort, there are multiple temples, lakes, shopping streets that are like a mirage from a bygone era.

    Assistance on arrival and after some rest join a guided walk to the Bustling Bazar of Old Jodhpur. On this walk, you will see the wholesale grain market, the bamboo market, spice sellers, colourful local grocery shops, fabric and jewellery shops, agricultural implements, fruits, vegetables, the list is endless! Every little shop presents interesting insights about life in this region of Rajasthan.

    DAY 13

    Approx. 4.5 Hrs Walking (City tour)

    This morning enjoy a guided walk to the Mehrangarh Fort, founded in 1459 AD situated on a low sandstone Hill, including Moti-Mahal and Phool Mahal. Also visit Jaswant Thada, an imposing Marble Memoriam built-in 1899. Afternoon excursion to a Mewari Village to visit the Banjara community, where the men earn their living by livestock farming and women work in the fields. From seeing the churning of butter to the grinding of flour; to marvel at the women’s exquisite jewellery and colourful clothes to sharing a chai and trying their indigenous bread.

    DAY 14

    Travel to Udaipur

    Morning assistance on departure and travel to Udaipur, also known as the city of lakes, is the crown jewel of the state of Rajasthan. It is surrounded by the beautiful Aravalli Hills in all directions, making this city as lovely as it is. The city has an abundance of natural beauty, mesmerising temples and breath-taking architecture, which makes it one of the must-visit destinations in India.

    After breakfast visit Udaipur most iconic attraction “City Palace Complex “ with its marble and granite walls laden with miniature paintings, and decorated with tiles, glasswork and mirrors. We will also visit the famous Jagdish Temple. Along with this we dive into the old quarters of Udaipur city on a guided walking tour and meet various locals artisans engaged in jewellery pottery and bamboo craft making. Concluded the day with a boat ride at Lake Pichola.
