DAY 1

Assistance on arrival at Indira Gandhi International airport

Arrive Delhi, the Political Capital of India. Delhi is history, and the monuments are tablets on which the history is written. Every conqueror did his best to possess Delhi and make it his capital. It is not a single city but a combination of eight cities that have been established here from as early as 900 BC to 1930 when the British completed the construction of New Delhi as the capital of Imperial India. It is therefore not surprising that the monuments of Delhi successfully mirror the development of the architectural styles in the country. On arrival, once you have completed the Immigration formalities and collected your baggage, please proceed to the arrival lounge where you will be welcomed by the TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS executive holding a placard who will assist you with a transfer.

    DAY 2

    Full day city tour of Old and New Delhi visiting Jama masjid with rickshaw ride, drive past tour of New Delhi and visit Lotus Temple and Qutub Minar

    Morning proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Delhi and begin with Old Delhi visiting Red Fort; the perfect representation of Mughal architecture. The artwork of the fort is a utopian synthesis of Persian, Indian and European style. We next reach Jama Masjid - the largest mosque in India built in red sandstone. Between the mosque and Chandni Chowk is a narrow shop-lined street along which you will be transported by cycle rickshaws on your most exhilarating journey of the tour. Afternoon drive past New Delhi, which will include possible photo opportunities of India Gate, at the exterior of the Parliament House and residence of the President of India (Rashtrapati Bhawan). Visit Lotus Temple, built in the shape of a lotus flower and is the last of seven Major Bahai's temples built around the world. Conclude your day with visit to Qutab Minar, being one of the most important landmarks of Delhi, with calligraphically decorated interiors and also inscriptions of verses of the Holy Quran.

    DAY 3

    Travel to Agra

    Today travel to Agra; the home to India's most famous landmark, the Taj Mahal. A poem of white marble, the Taj is described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love. The city provides avid glimpses of Mughal architecture. Formerly the capital of the Mughal Empire, the culture and heritage still exists in the bylanes of the city alluring travelers from far ends of the globe.

Afternoon enjoy a visit to the 16th century Agra Fort, built by Emperor Akbar, made with red sandstone, is a labyrinth of Mahals, Court Rooms, Gardens, secret passway exhibiting an amazing mix of Islamic and Hindu style of architecture. We conclude the day with an evening visit to India’s most iconic landmark, the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The epitome of love, standing majestically on the banks of the river Yamuna, was built in the 17th century by the Mughul Emperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his queen. Made in pure white marble, ornated with semi-precious stones and built around a beautiful four gardens plan, it is universally admired as the greatest achievement in the whole range of Indo-Islamic architecture.

    DAY 4

    Travel to Jaipur, En-route visit Fatehpur Sikri

    Assistance on departure and travel to Jaipur. The first planned city of India is a treasure-trove of culture, art and history, famous for its color, lifestyle and Rajasthani cuisine. En-route visit Fatehpur Sikri, an outstanding specimen of Mughal architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The well preserved red sandstone fortress consisting of the palace with ornate carvings, imposing entrance doors, Mughal courtyard and King’s court, lives up to the character and repute it retained ever since it was build in the 16th century by Emperor Akbar. Later continue your travel to Jaipur with the evening at leisure.

    On arrival in Jaipur, you will be assisted with a transfer. Remaining of the day is free to explore world-famous Jewellery bazaar which offers a variety that ranges from chunky tribal Jewellery to enamelled gold to modern diamond Jewellery. In Rajasthan, men and women can be seen sporting necklaces, armlets, anklets, earrings, and rings. Silver is more commonly worn by rural women and is certainly more affordable for a shopper. Jaipur is well known for its gold and silver enamelling. Colourful bangles and set with semiprecious stones make an inexpensive buy.

    DAY 5

    Full day city tour visiting Amber fort with Jeep ride, en-route photo stop at Hawa Mahal and Jal Mahal; also visit to City Palace museum and Jantar Mantar

    Morning tour of Jaipur starts with a drive to Amber fort. En-route photo stop at Hawa Mahal (Wind Palace). The fort complex built of red sandstone and marble boasts of various edifices of prominence like the diwan-i-Aam, Sheesh Mahal, Shila Devi Temple and ‘Ganesh Pol’ gate that leads to private palaces of the royal. The fort presents a beautiful blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture. Next photo stop at Jal Mahal, built in the mid of the lake. Visit City Palace which boasts to have some of the priceless handwritten Hindu scriptures, miniature delicate paintings, preserved painted ceilings and the elephant saddles, also registered in the Guinness Book of Records to contain the biggest silver objects in the world. The day ends with a visit to Jantar Mantar; the famed observatory is a complex of astronomical instruments chiselled out of stone which provides fairly accurate information to the day.

    DAY 6

    Assistance on departure and Travel to Khejarla, afternoon free to explore the village

    Assistance on departure and travel to Khejarla; The 400-year-old fort now converted to heritage hotel offers picturesque settings, latticework friezes and intricate Jharokas that will transport you back in time to experience the majesty of a long-gone era of valour and chivalry. On arrival Check-in at the hotel, while remaining of the day is free to explore the village. . .

    DAY 7

    Enjoy morning walk in the village, afternoon travel to Jodhpur

    Today enjoy early morning village walk. It is said that the real India is its rural areas, the country around Khejarla boasts of very interesting landscapes, with the picturesque Aravalli Hills in the east, and broken rocky hills interspersed with farms and scrub forests all around. The Pre-Cambrian Aravalli Hills is one of the oldest mountain ranges of the world and a geologist paradise. Later in time check-out from Hotel and travel to Jodhpur. Today you will experience the feeling of travelling back in time with a journey to Jodhpur, while you catch a glimpse of the splendour and magnificence of this ancient desert city. At its best, it is a doorway to the wonderland of sand dunes and shrubs, rocky terrain and thorny trees.

    On arrival in Jodhpur, you will be assisted with a transfer. Later in the afternoon visit Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest forts in India, where the beauty and grandeur of numerous palaces inside narrates a saga of hard sandstone yielding to the chisels of skilled Jodhpuri sculptors. Inside, the collection of musical instruments, palanquins, furniture and cannons on the fort’s ramparts are all well preserved. Continue to Jaswant Thada, a cluster of royal cenotaphs in white marble built in the year 1899 AD in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Within the main cenotaph are the portraits of various Jodhpur rulers. It is an architectural landmark of Jodhpur. Evening you are free to explore the Sadar bazaar which exhibits varieties of items ranging from handicrafts, sarees, bangles etc, which would tempt the travelers especially the women.

    DAY 8

    4x4 Wheel Drive rural experience with picnic lunch, evening explore local Bazaar

    Morning you will be transferred to an off-road point where 4X4 vehicles will be waiting for you to take you for the rural desert experience. After a quick briefing and familiarization of vehicles, terrain, driving conditions, rules, you will be taken into the wilderness where you visit the actual homes of members of different communities like the Bishnois, Rajputs, Brahmins, and Raikas, and get a chance of first-hand interaction with them. Also witness artisans and craftsmen engaged in their occupation. Visit the potter, the weaver and the wood engraver. Afternoon enjoy delicious picnic lunch at a scenic spot with some time to relax. Witness the variety of wildlife that is abundant in this region. Spot the various species of local and migratory birds that make this a photographer’s paradise; like the Demoiselle Crane, various types of ducks and geese. Rest of the evening is free to explore the local market.

    DAY 9

    Travel to Udaipur

    Morning assistance on departure and travel to Udaipur, also known as the city of lakes, is the crown jewel of the state of Rajasthan. It is surrounded by the beautiful Aravalli Hills in all directions, making this city as lovely as it is. The city has an abundance of natural beauty, mesmerising temples and breath-taking architecture, which makes it one of the must-visit destinations in India.

    DAY 10

    Full day city tour visiting City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Sahelion ki Bari, Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal, followed by Shared Boat Ride

    Morning proceed for a guided sightseeing tour visiting City Palace and its complex. The City Palace boasts a wonderful blend of Medieval, European and Chinese Architecture and has various towers, domes and arches, which add to the flavour of this heritage site. Later visit Jagdish Temple, dating back to 1651 AD, it is an exquisite example of Indo Aryan architecture. Also visit Sahelion ki Bari means Garden of Maids and Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal, an Indian folk art museum which has interesting exhibits that include traditional dresses, ornaments, puppets, masks, dolls, musical instruments, folk deities. Late afternoon enjoy a boat ride (shared) on Lake Pichola, an artificial freshwater lake, created in the year 1362 AD, and named after the nearby Picholi village. Rest of the evening explore on your own, visiting the numerous shops that dot the narrow winding streets of Udaipur for souvenirs.

    DAY 11

    Excursion to Bhil Village

    Morning pick-up from your accommodation & proceed for the Bhil Village Tour. Indian culture has been a point of interest for thousands of years and still does not disappoint people who visit this land of many fascinating cultures. Embark on a Tribal Village experience along with your Tribal Tour guide. Your guide was born in this very village and will be excited to share the history and culture of the tribe. As local and from the same community, you will get more chance to witness their culture closely on your Bhil Dhar and Ubeshwarji village walk. During the tour, you will visit the village market, farmland, local school where you can spend time with the children and teach a few of the worlds. Enjoy interacting with villagers, also visit their homes to see the rural lifestyle and their daily course which will impress you. The three hours (approx.) tour concludes on reaching the temple. Here witness prayer and thereafter enjoy refreshments. Later drop-off at your accommodation.
