Arrive Kuching

On arrival, meet your Tour Executive who will assist and transfer to the hotel. The remainder of the day is for your to explore the old colonial city centre of Kuching or just be at leisure.

Semenggoh Orangutan Centre & Sarawak River Sunset Cruise

Morning pick up from your hotel and proceed to visit Semenggoh Wildlife Centre provides. Its an excellent opportunity to view semi-wild orangutans in a natural setting. This orangutan rehabilitation centre receives orphaned or rescued orangutans and trains them to survive in the wild. The feeding area is set in a natural amphitheatre where it is possible to observe the orangutans coming down from the surrounding forest for the food provided. After visiting the centre you will return to your hotel. Later in Afternoon, Depart at 1730 hours, on board the Sunset River cruise on the Sarawak River. This is a wonderful way of observing Kuching City and will give you a feel of how transportation to and from the city was in the days before the introduction of air travel and modern road vehicles. In the distance, Mount Serapi provides a stunning backdrop for the city. On most days you will be able to enjoy a scenic sunset from the deck of the cruise ship.

Rainforest Kayaking

After an early breakfast proceed to the Bengoh, the starting point of your kayak adventure. Float down a river that meanders through spectacular limestone hills clad with tropical rainforest and punctuated with Class 1 to Class 2 rapids providing a thrilling water ride. Visit a friendly Bidayuh Village, have a swim in the cool refreshing mountain water and enjoy a light picnic lunch on the sandy riverbank.

Drive to Batang Ai reservoir and travel upriver to Nanga Sumpa by longboat

0750-0810 hours pick up from hotel in Kuching and drive to Batang Ai reservoir. Along the way stop at Lachau Bazaar. Stroll around the shops and the small native market and have an early lunch in a local coffee shop. Then continue your journey, arriving at Batang Ai Lake around 1330-1400 hours. Board a longboat and travel upriver to Nanga Sumpa, arriving at approx. 1530 hours, although the exact time will depend on river conditions

Check - in & relax

Check-in and rest of the day is free to explore. In evening visit Nanga Sumpa longhouse. Relax on the ruai (common verandah) and spend time with the Iban people. Interact with the community; learn about their culture and enjoy some local rice wine.

Following breakfast hike, the jungle trails along the river to another community then continue upriver by longboat. On the way relax, swim, enjoy the Enseluai waterfall and rainforest surroundings. After BBQ lunch trek for 1-2 hours along a rainforest trail through the orangutan habitat and arrive at the jungle camp.

Check-in and spend rest of the day in leisure. After dinner spend a quiet evening or go for a night walk near the lodge and enjoy the tranquillity of the forest. Stay two nights at Lubok Kasai jungle camp.

Rainforest Trail Trekking

After breakfast depart 0830-0900 hours and go trekking on one of the rainforest trails to look for orangutans and other wildlife like pig-tailed macaques, hornbills and a variety of birds. Return for the lunch at the camp, relax at the lodge or go for a swim in the river. Around 1600 hours depart on a 1-2 hour walk along a trail that follows the Lalang River and search of orang-utans.

Travel to Kuching

Breakfast in the camp. 0830 hours travel downriver to the Batang Ai Lake jetty, arriving around 1030-1100 hours. Then travel overland back to Kuching with lunch enroute. Upon arrival in Kuching travel to Damai Beach.

Departure transfer

After breakfast tour finishes with a direct transfer to Kuching airport.
