This historic tour begins in the former princely city of Hyderabad, a cornucopia of contrasts, rich in Imperial heritage and new age industry. A legacy of the decadent Nizams is the trade of pearls, gold, fabric and of course diamonds. Travel from this Islamic pocket in southern India to the intrinsically Hindu collection of temples at Badami, Aihole, Pattadakal and on to Hampi and the ancient Vijayanagar Empire to see some of India’s most intricate historical stone carvings. Most of the monument visited in this tour is now UNESCO World Heritage Site and showcasing glorious past of the area. If you wish at the end of your explorations through history you can add to stay at Goa, renowned for its endless beaches, places of worship and world heritage architecture.

DAY 1

Assistance on arrival at airport

On arrival at Hyderabad airport, TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS executive will meet you at the arrival lounge holding up a placard and will assist you with a transfer. Hyderabad is a city of pearls and biryani which offers a variety of tourist attractions ranging from Heritage monuments, Lakes and Parks, Gardens and Resorts, Museums to delectable cuisine and delightful shopping experience.

    DAY 2

    Full day city tour visiting Charminar, Mecca Masjid, Salar Jung Museum and Hussain Sagar Lake

    Morning enjoy the full day city tour of Hyderabad visiting Charminar. It is a magnificent square edifice of granite built upon four grand arches facing North, South, East and West, Mecca Masjid, named because the bricks were brought from Mecca to build the central arch, Salar Jung Museum which boasts the collection of art objects by Nawab Salar Jung III, this museum houses magnificent exhibits of European and Indian paintings and sculptures, Tank Bund or Hussain Sagar lake, Hyderabad's most popular promenade.

    DAY 3

    Travel to Gulbarga, en-route visit to Bidar

    Morning assistance on departure and travel to Gulbarga. Enroute visit Bidar, a tiny district immersed in history. The Fort, the Cannons, Palaces in ruins, the magnificent tombs and the massive monuments, all combine to visit the one-time capital of the Bahmani and Barid Shahi dynasties. Continue to travel to Gulbarga which is famous for its association with the erstwhile medieval kingdom of Bahamani (1347-1526). It was the capital of the Bahmani rulers from 1347 to 1428. Several monuments dating from 13th to the 15th century can be seen here which reflect the architectural skills of the Bahmani rulers.

    DAY 4

    Morning visit of Gulbarga Fort, Tomb of Sufi saint and travel to Bijapur

    Morning proceed for a sightseeing tour of Gulbarga; start with Gulbarga Fort; built in the 12th century, the granite monument imposes a stunning facade which displays an attractive combination of Persian and Indian architecture. The fort was originally built by Raja Gulchand, later the fort was fortified by Alauddin Bahmani with a deep moat and massive walls. The fort contained 15 towers and 26 guns of which one is 8 metres long. Next visit the Bande Nawaz tomb of the famous Sufi mystic Khwaja Bande Nawaz. Here also is a vast library composed of more than ten thousand books of Urdu, Arabic and Persian languages. One can witness the Persian, Indo-Saracenic and Arabic influences on the building, dome and towers that surround the tomb. Later travel to Bijapur; The city is dotted with several historical marvels of medieval India. The foundation stone of this city was laid by the Chalukya dynasty in the 11th century. People here belong to both Aryan and Dravidian descendant.

    DAY 5

    Sightseeing tour visiting Gol Gumbaz, Jumma Masjid, Travel to Badami and En-route visit Aihole

    Morning proceed to visit Gol Gumbaz, the tomb of Mohammed Adil Shah, boasts of the second-largest tomb in the world. Next visit Jumma Masjid – has been called one of the finest mosques in India. After the tour travel to Badami, the capital of early Chalukyas is picturesquely situated at the mouth of a ravine between two rocky hills. En-route visit to Aihole, as the cradle of Indian architecture, Aihole has over 100 temples scattered around the village. Then after continue to travel to Badami.

    DAY 6

    Sightseeing of Badami North Fort, Banashakari Amma Temple and Mahakuta temple. Later travel to Hospet, en-route visit Pattadakal

    Morning visit the Badami North Fort, northern side of the Agasthya Lake, the fort has a temple and a mosque too. Badami Fort is spread over the hills in two parts, North and South, it is believed that North Fort housed Tipu Sultan’s treasury. Thereafter visit Banashankari Amma Temple, dedicated to Goddess Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva, originally built by the Chalukyas during the 7th century. Towards the left of the temple is a beautifully crafted pillared cloister that is built around the sacred tank called Harischandra Tirth. Next visit Mahakuta temple; the Mahakuta group of temples are an architectural delight, mirroring the unique rock-cut construction pattern of the Chalukyas. Next travel to Hospet, the city is known for pleasant weather and beautiful ambience, en-route visit Pattadakal, situated on the bank of the Malarapbha river, has ten major temples representing early Chalukyan architecture.

    DAY 7

    Excursion to Hampi

    Morning enjoy the full day excursion to Hampi, also known as the city of ruins, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Situated in the shadowed depth of hills and valleys, the ruins of Hampi are so majestic and imposing that they leave the visitor awestruck and humbled. Visit the Virupaksha Temple rises majestically at the western end of a 670m long street that was once the famous Hampi bazaar. This is the only temple at Hampi that is still used for worship. The most splendid monument of Hampi is undoubtedly The Vitthala Temple Complex which has 56 pillars in the main hall produce musical notes when struck. Hampi is full of such surprises. After the sightseeing, return to Hospet and spend rest of the time at leisure.

    DAY 8

    Travel to Dandeli

    Morning check-out and travel to Dandeli National Park, a wildlife sanctuary abounds with the richness of Flora and Fauna. Its richness and diversity offer ample opportunities to nature lovers to enjoy the captivating landscape. The sanctuary is generally undulating with steep slopes with picturesque deep river valleys and rich hilly forest terrain.

    DAY 9

    Morning and afternoon Safari

    Enjoy morning and afternoon safaris at Dandeli National Park. Spot herds of wild elephants, deer and if luck is on your side, you can watch predators catching their prey in their natural habitat. This is much more exciting than watching a wildlife documentary on television. Dandeli is home of thousands of mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds. The varied climate and landscape of this place make this land ideal for the wildlife. The rivers and dense forests play an important role in the growth of animals in Dandeli National Park. The animals which are found here are Black Panther, Bison, Elephant and Tiger which is the largest living member of this sanctuary. The other are gaur, sambar, spotted deer, wild dog, mongoose, porcupine, jackal, languor, the sloth bear also known as the labiates bear.

    DAY 10

    Transfer to Goa airport

    In time transfer to Goa airport to board the flight to onward destination.
