You experience Indian Agriculture during our visits to the milk collection stations, on the short ox cart ride to the farm village, spontaneous stops to see the mustard farm harvest, visit the flower seed farm, and rice harvesting on the farms.  As we drive through the countryside you will see the farm tractor repair shops, trucks hauling the sugar cane from the farm, and the many cattle & goats roaming freely along the roadside.  Enjoy the smiling faces of the colourful Indian people and the smell of the spices at the street vendors. DAY 1

Assistance on arrival at Indira Gandhi International airport

Arrive Delhi, the Political Capital of India. Delhi is history, and the monuments are tablets on which the history is written. Every conqueror did his best to possess Delhi and make it his capital. It is not a single city but a combination of eight cities that have been established here from as early as 900 BC to 1930 when the British completed the construction of New Delhi as the capital of Imperial India. It is therefore not surprising that the monuments of Delhi successfully mirror the development of the architectural styles in the country. On arrival, once you have completed the Immigration formalities and collected your baggage, please proceed to the arrival lounge where you will be welcomed by the TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS executive holding a placard who will assist you with a transfer.

    DAY 2

    Full day city tour of Old and New Delhi, visiting Spice Market with Rickshaw ride, Jama Masjid, Qutub Minar, followed by a drive-past tour of New Delhi

    Proceed for a full day city tour, begin with Old Delhi with a drive past Red Fort to reach Jama Masjid - the largest mosque in India built in red sandstone. Between the mosque and Chandni Chowk is a narrow shop-lined street along which you will be transported by cycle rickshaws on your most exhilarating journey of the tour. A rickshaw ride will take you through markets buzzing with people going about their daily chores, vendors selling their wares and shops decorated and ready for business. The rickshaw tour is a great way to discover a different aspect of Delhi and experience the energy of the city. Also visit Khari Baoli, a street in Old Delhi, known for its wholesale groceries and Asia's largest wholesale spice market selling all kinds of spices, nuts, herbs and other food products. Conclude your day with a visit to Qutab Minar; being one of the most important landmarks of Delhi, with calligraphy decorated interiors as well as inscriptions of verses of the Holy Quran.

    DAY 3

    Full day tour visiting Amul Plant, IARI and organic and herbal farming

    This morning, a drive into the local countryside and visit the Amul Milk Plant, a state-of-the-art dairy factory that produces milk, curd, ice cream and cheese. Thereafter we visit the IARI National Agricultural Science Museum and Institute. The current institute in Delhi is financed and administered by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The IARI was responsible for the research leading to the "Green Revolution in India" of the 1970s. The institute was established the financial assistance of Henry Phipps, Jr., an American philanthropist. Phipps was a family friend of Lady Curzon, the daughter of an American millionaire, and the wife of Lord Curzon, the Viceroy of India. Later, visit an organic and herbal farm, for cocktails and dinner.

    DAY 4

    Morning visit wholesale fruit and vegetable market, later travel to Agra

    Morning enjoys a visit to one of the largest wholesale fruit and vegetable markets in Asia, where trading and auctioning take place early every morning. As you approach the market, you can sense the vibrant energy in the air. The market is a sprawling complex of warehouses and stalls, with a constant stream of trucks and vendors bustling about. The market is a sensory feast, with the scent of ripe fruits and vegetables permeating the air. It's a symphony of sights and sounds as vendors call out their wares, enticing buyers with their melodic chants. Later travel to Agra is the home to India's most famous landmark, the Taj Mahal. The Taj is described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love.

    Assistance on arrival and afternoon visit Agra Fort

    On arrival, you will be assisted with a transfer. Afternoon enjoy a guided tour of the large 16th century Agra Fort, built by Emperor Akbar, made with red sandstone, the forbidding exteriors of this fort hide an inner paradise which is a labyrinth of Mahals, Court Rooms, Gardens, secret passway exhibiting an amazing mixture of Islamic and Hindu style of architecture. The splendid structures within the fort, the ramparts and majestic gateways signify the immense power, wealth and confidence of the Mughal empire.

    DAY 5

    Early morning visit Taj Mahal, later visit marble inlay workshop

    Early morning visit India’s most iconic landmark, the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The epitome of love, standing majestically on the banks of the river Yamuna, was built in the 17th century by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his queen. Made in pure white marble, ornated with semi-precious stones and built around a beautiful four gardens plan split by watercourses, it is universally admired as the greatest achievement in the whole range of Indo-Islamic architecture. After breakfast visit a marble inlay workshop. Of all the Mughal Emperors, Shah Jahan was the greatest patron of the arts in general and architecture, in particular. For him no amount of money or time was too much to create enduring, everlasting architectural wonders that would wow the world and stand the test of centuries of time. It is in his buildings that one sees the confluence of Mughal art and pietra dura.

    DAY 6

    Travel to Jaipur

    Assistance on departure and travel to Jaipur, the first planned city of India, is a treasure-trove of culture, art and history. Famous for its color, lifestyle and Rajasthani cuisine. It is a city exuding royal heritage and extravagant richness.

    Assistance on arrival and afternoon enjoy High tea at Rambagh Palace, evening is free

    Assistance on arrival and check in at hotel. Later in the afternoon experience High tea at Taj Rambagh Palace. Savour the best teas of the world with an exquisite array of exotic canapés and pastries while watching the resident peacocks strut in the gardens. A platter of traditional high tea and snacks will be served with an array of sweets and savouries varies, which often includes scones with clotted Devon cream, light pastries, sandwiches and more. Rest of the evening is free to explore and indulge in shopping at the colourful bazaars of Jaipur.

    DAY 7

    Full day city tour visiting Amber fort with Jeep ride, en-route photo stop at Hawa Mahal, visit to City Palace, afternoon experience Henna painting and Turban tying

    Start your day with a visit to the majestic Amber Fort, constructed from yellow and pink sandstone and gleaming white marble. En-route photo stop at Hawa Mahal (Wind Palace). The fort complex built of red sandstone and marble claims of various edifices of prominence like the diwan-i-Aam, Sheesh Mahal, Shila Devi Temple that presents a beautiful blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture. Next visit City Palace Museum which boasts to have some of the priceless handwritten Hindu scriptures, miniature delicate paintings, preserved painted ceilings and the elephant saddles (haudas). Later women will have Heena hand painting whereas men will learn the traditional Rajasthani Turban tying, there are many variations of the turbans in Rajasthan, and it is said that the style of the turban changes with every 15 km you travel. The rest of the evening is free to explore and indulge in shopping at the colorful bazaars of Jaipur.

    DAY 8

    Travel to Hisar

    Travel to Hisar, the administrative headquarters of Hisar district in the state of Haryana. The foundation of present town of Hisar, historically known as Hisar-i-Firoza, was laid by Firoz Shah Tughlaq in 1354 AD. He adorned his new town with several historical buildings such as fort, palaces, tombs, mosques, gates and gardens. Some of monuments are still in good state of preservation.

    Check in at hotel and half day city tour of Hisar

    On arrival take some rest and proceed to Hisar sightseeing. The Firoz Shah Palace Complex built by Firoz Shah Tughlaq in 1354 AD. Lat Ki Masjid and explore the local market of Hisar.

    DAY 9

    Visit to the Blue Bird Lake and Haryana Agricultural University

    After breakfast visit the Blue Bird Lake, Hisar is a resident and endangered migratory bird wetland habitat, and also visit OP Jindal Gyan Kendra Haryana Agricultural University. Explore the farms where new farming methods are being evolved in the form of the transfer of technology from traditional farming techniques.

    DAY 10

    Travel to Ludhiana

    Morning travel to Ludhiana, a well-known textile and garments manufacturing hub of India.

    DAY 11

    Visit Punjab Agriculture University and travel to Amritsar

    Morning after breakfast visit the Punjab Agriculture University, which has gained international recognition for its excellence in agriculture. Here you will get to learn about the researches that are carried in the agricultural field and dairy farming. Afterwards continue travel towards Amritsar.

    Assistance on arrival and travel to Wagah border, evening enjoy Punjabi thali meal

    On arrival, you will be assisted with a transfer. Later travel to Wagah Border to watch the lowering of the flags ceremony, which takes place each evening before sunset. Also referred to as the Beating Retreat border ceremony on the international level, this daily military ritual has been practiced by both India and Pakistan since 1959. Witness the brash parade of soldiers from both sides of the Wagah border, which once served as the only road linking the two countries. Watch as the infantrymen stand at attention and the border iron gates are opened as the two nations flags are lowered in perfect unison with the setting sun. The spectacle ends with the folding of flags, followed by a curt handshake between opposing soldiers and the closing of the gates. Later enjoy a Punjabi meal at a local restaurant.

    DAY 12

    City tour visiting The Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh and evening free to explore the Hall Bazaar

    Morning visit to The Golden Temple, the most important sacred place in Sikh religion. Amritsar is a thriving city with important devout centers and historical sites exhibiting a glorious past. It has four doorways and gorgeously decorated arches, with the temple standing in the middle of a tank, exudes tremendous architectural brilliance. Next visit the Jallianwala Bagh, a historic garden and memorial of national importance in Amritsar, preserved in the memory of those wounded and killed in the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre that occurred on 13th April 1919. Evening free to explore the hall bazaar.

    DAY 13

    Village excursion with home cooked lunch

    Morning after breakfast we visit the Daburji Village, travel through the vast green fields, orchards, tractors and trucks, rural markets selling farm implements and explore the local culture. Take a trip to a dairy farm and milking cows & buffaloes and interact with local people. Hop on the tractor ride through the green fields, later meet a local family and have a typical home-cooked lunch. Evening take a guided walk through the fascinating Walled City of Amritsar, popularly known as Hall Bazaar. Its narrow streets and lanes, with their colourful and vibrant street hawkers, shopkeepers, traders, rickshaws and wayside eateries invite exploration.

    DAY 14

    Gurdaspur excursion to visit dairy farms

    After a leisurely breakfast, travel to the Gurdaspur region and enjoy some of the activities on offer in this quiet rural environment. You may like to observe or participate in various farming activities, including a visit to a nearby dairy farm where you can learn about traditional dairy farming and if you like participate in milking the cows. There are also many opportunities for walking and cycling with a good network of trails; take a stroll through the local village, or call into the Sikh History Museum.

    DAY 15

    Travel to Chandigarh

    Morning, travel to Capital city of Chandigarh, the best-planned city in India, a union territory that is the capital of both Punjab as well as Haryana, is an ideal definition of the word 'city'. With a culture that includes instances of both traditional Punjab as well as modernity. Chandigarh is a rare epitome of modernization co-existing with nature's preservation. It is here that the trees and plants are as much a part of the construction plans as the buildings and the roads. India’s first planned city, is a rich, prosperous, spic and span, green city rightly called “ THE CITY BEAUTIFUL”.

    Assistance on arrival, visit Capitol complex and Rock garden

    On arrival, check-in at your accommodation. Later in the afternoon, proceed for the half-day guided city tour starting with The Capitol complex, magnificent edifices, set against the Shivalik peaks, stand as massive concrete sculptures, representing the monumental character authority that the complex represents. It comprises of three masterpieces structure: the Secretariat, the High Court and the Legislative Assembly. Later visit the Rock Garden, designed as an open-air exhibition hall using urban and industrial wastes by Nek Chand, a former Road Inspector in Chandigarh. The Rock Garden is one of the prime attractions of Chandigarh.
