Starting From
The Goechala trek in Sikkim is one of the most romantic trails the Indian Himalayas has to offer the enchanting walk through the Tshoka, rhododendron forests, the vast Dzongri and Thansing meadows, the startling blue waters of Samiti lake, the looming presence of Kanchenjunga and Pandim and the icy trail to Goechala all come together to make this trek truly amazing. You get to trek to the lap of the mighty Kanchenjunga. For the best views of Kanchenjunga, we trek Goecha La (4940 m) from the final stop at Samiti Lake. Dzongri in West Sikkim also offers the trekker a most fascinating close-up view of Kanchenjunga and Mt. Pandim. To the west rises the long outline of the Kyangla ridge. Dzongri is a trekker’s paradise. The Goecha La trek follows an incredibly picturesque route past lush vegetation and offers wonderful mountain views like none other.

On arrival at the airport meet your Tour Manager who will assist with transfer and check-in at the hotel. Stay overnight in Kolkata.
We have a very early start this morning to visit Tiger Hill and enjoy a spectacular view of the Kanchenjunga with Darjeeling in the foreground. (Depends on the weather condition). After breakfast enjoy a joy ride on the Toy Train of Darjeeling. This train was commissioned in 1881 and still is a big attraction for tourists besides ferrying local people. Evening free to stroll around the local markets.
The trail from Yuksom starts at the local market and follows the main road towards the north. The trail climbs gently out of the valley and embraces the right bank of the Rathong Chu River, which can be heard thundering through the gorge below. The trail crosses over four bridges and climbs steeply towards the northwest to the small settlement of Bakhim. Continue for another 3 km through the forest of magnolia and rhododendron to reach Tshokha. Overnight stay in tent.
The trail from Dzongri continues along the right bank of the river towards the east. After cresting the hill the path drops into the valley and then crosses the bridge over the Prek Chu river. It’s an hour climb from the bridge to Thangsing (3800 m) located on the slopes of Mt Pandim. Overnight stay in tent.
The trail from Thangsing climbs gently north and follows a stream and alpine meadows, Today’s trek is a gradual ascend through one of the most picturesque areas. The walk is through a glade between mighty mountains. As the trek today is short, one can explore the picturesque surroundings in the afternoon or rest to conserve energy to cope with the long day tomorrow. Overnight stay in tent.
An early start for the hike up to the Goecha La (4,940m/16,200ft) and back. The walk takes about 08 hours roundtrip and it is challenging and strenuous. The terrain is also more challenging than the previous days of the trek. Returning down the valley, there will be a welcome meal and a short rest before setting off to walk gently downhill for 1½ to 2 hours to reach Thangsing. Overnight stay in tent.
After breakfast, we drive for about 4 hrs to reach Bagdogra from where you can catch a flight for your onward destination. Trip and services end here.
