On arrival at the airport, meet your Tour Manager who will assist with the transfer to the hotel for two night stay at Taj Mahal in Delhi.
Enjoy breakfast and an introduction to the tour by the Tour Manager before, starting full day sightseeing of Delhi. Visit the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India, enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride past the several busy bazaars and Asia’s largest spice market which has existed since the 17th-century. At Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, the city’s largest Sikh Temple, you’ll gain a fascinating insight into India’s cultural diversity. Finally, visit Qutub Minar a World Heritage site, this is the tallest brick minaret in the world.
Travel to Gwalior once a princely state in central India. On arrival check-in at The Taj Usha Kiran Palace, Rich in history, this 120-year-old palace is now a heritage hotel. Afternoon join a guided sightseeing tour and visit the captivating Jai Vilas Palace, which has the stock with antiques and furniture imported from Europe in the mid 19th century. An early start to visit the Taj Mahal, the world’s greatest monument of love and devotion with its superb craftsmanship of semi-precious stones inlaid in the marble. Afternoon visit to a marble inlay workshop to see artisans creating a masterpiece in marble and precious gemstones.
After breakfast travel to Jaipur, the pink city of India. On arrival check into the Taj Rambagh Palace, spread over 47 acres of tranquil, landscaped gardens, Rambagh Palace is Jaipur’s foremost Royal Palace residence. After a brief rest get ready for a Hi-Tea at the Rambagh Palace, Savour the best teas of the world with an exquisite array of exotic canapés and pastries while watching the resident peacocks strut in the gardens. Start sightseeing tour with an excursion to the majestic Amber Fort, constructed from yellow and pink sandstone and gleaming white marble. Photo Stop at Hawa Mahal or Palace of Winds. At the City Palace Museum, witness the curated collection of miniature paintings, ancient weapons and traditional Rajasthani royal costumes. Late afternoon women will have Heena painting and men will learn the art of Rajasthani Turban tying. Rest of the evening is free to explore and indulge in shopping at the colourful bazaars of Jaipur.
Today we leave for Bikaner bolstered by imposing walls and has a 16thcentury fort housing old palaces, temples and a mosque. En-route visit the Junagadh Fort, constructed between 1588 and 1593. Stay overnight at The Gajner Palace.
Travel to Jaisalmer the ancient capital of the Yadav as in the heart of the Thar Desert. Later in the evening, we take a small excursion to village SAM, which has a cluster of Sand Dunes and enjoy a camel ride in the evening and witness the Sun Set with Changing Colours of the desert. Stay two nights at Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer.
Enjoy a city tour of Jaisalmer visiting the fort built in 1156 AD. The life within the citadel conjures up images of medieval times with magnificent palaces, Havelis, temples and of course skilled artisans and ubiquitous camels.
Today we leave for Jodhpur. The blue city, a crazed mass of indigo angles, spreads, along the edge of the Great Thar Desert. On arrival in Jodhpur, we check in our Grand Palace hotel “The Umaid Bhawan Palace”. A unique feature of this palace is how the hand-chiselled sandstone blocks have been put together in an interlocking pattern without any mortar binding. Rest of the day is free for relaxation. Our experience of Jodhpur starts with a visit to Mehrangarh fort, built-in 1459 A.D by Rao Jodha, which rises steeply from a rocky scrap wind- up to the massive gateway. The fort house a museum, with a splendid collection of the trappings of Indian royalty. Later we visit Jaswant Thada a white marble memorial, built in 1899. Evening will be in leisure.
Today we leave for Lake City Udaipur. On arrival check-in at the Taj Lake Palace, this exquisite white marble palace seems to float majestically on the still waters of Lake Pichola. Set amid awe-inspiring fairy-tale gardens, this 250-year old palace brims with princely details including marble pillars, ornate glasswork, intricate paintings.
