On arrival at the airport, meet your Tour Executive who will assist you with transfer to the hotel in Cochin for an overnight stay.
Morning proceed for the sightseeing tour of Cochin. You will have a walk around the Synagogue. The area around the synagogue is known as Jews town and is one of the Kochi's spice trade centres. Thereafter we stop at Mattancherry Dutch Palace which was built by the Portuguese and presented to the Maharaja of Cochin in 1555. Ongoing, you will visit St. Francis Church, the first church to be built in India by the Portuguese. Next after visiting Santa Cruz Cathedral, enjoy a stroll on the beach to see the Chinese fishing nets. Later in the evening enjoy a Kathakali Dance Performance.
After breakfast, travel to Kumarakom; an unbelievably beautiful paradise of mangrove forests, emerald green paddy fields and coconut groves interspersed with enchanting waterways and canals adorned with white lilies. Laze in a canoe amidst sylvan surroundings where the only presence is yours and the egrets. Upon arrival check in to the hotel. Afternoon enjoy a nature walk and explore this small village. Stay overnight in Kumarakom.
Early morning visit the famous Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary that gives you the pleasure to meet a variety of migratory birds that cluster in thousands some of the Himalayas and some even from the snow-kissed hills of Siberia, a true multicultural avian metropolis. Watch numerous alluring species of birds, including Darters, Bitterns, Brahminy kites, Marsh Harries, Teals and several varieties of Herons roost in their nests on the green acme, chirping and taking flight every now and then. Today embark on a traditional houseboat at Kumarakom. Experience serenity while cruising on backwaters winding through the vast stretch of paddy fields and the neat tiny hamlets lining both sides of the canals. Enjoy onboard meals with an overnight stay on the houseboat.
