The tour packages are usually “Land Only” and do not include international flights. We therefore recommend that you contact us or your travel agent to book your flights well in advance of travel, when you can generally gain access to specials and discounted airfares. This will ensure you can travel on the days that suit you and your tour.
Travel insurance is compulsory on all of our journeys. Speak to us or your travel agent about comprehensive insurance to cover your travel arrangements. This must critically cover medical expenses in case of an emergency. Note that travel insurance automatically provided with credit cards generally does not provide adequate cover. Its your responsibility to ensure that you have appropriate and comprehensive travel insurance.
Our elderly travellers who are aged 70 years or more, or with a per-existing condition that affects their fitness to travel or any medical dietary requirement, must be advised at the time of booking. We recommend all travellers should visit their Doctor for these aforementioned purposes and/or to confirm that they are physically able to undertake the day-to-day requirements of the tour.

As there is so much to see and do in India during the day therefore everyone deserves a good night sleep. We choose quality accommodation according to the category you are travelling in, based on providing a place of rest that offers not only comfort but also an authentic experience rather than staying in a hotel that could by anywhere in the world. Every hotel might be different according to location, amenities and services. While selecting hotel we consider great location, private bathroom facilities and air-conditioning to name few.
Comfort: 3 star hotels offering basic and clean private facilities.
Deluxe: 4 Star hotel, Palaces and Heritage properties offering above average to very good facilities.
Luxury: 5 star hotel, Palace and Heritage properties offering full range of facilities and exceptional services with unique feature.
The cities which do not have more choice of hotels, the best suitable category of hotel is provided.
It is also possible to take a combination of comfort, deluxe and luxury accommodation in one itinerary.
Nepal being adventure destination, choices of accommodation are limited hence basic 3* or best available hotel in the itinerary except at some location where 4* and 5* hotel options are offered.
In Bhutan itinerary basis 3* hotel accommodation is used unless requested.
Selecting Your Holiday Type
Most of our journeys are suited to those with normal fitness and mobility levels. To assist you in choosing a journey best for you we have graded our tours;
Easy Paced: These programs are set at a comfortable pace. Walking and climbing of stairs involved is generally in and around major tourist attractions though you may require walking from road till boat jetty while embarking or disembarking boats.
Moderate: These tours are not strenuous but you will require good amount of fitness as they may include days with long periods of walking or soft trekking, climbing of stairs, embarking and disembarking boats and where longer distances may be travelled by uneven roads.
Adventurous: These refer to programs where your physical fitness needs to be on highest level. Trekking, cycling, climbing, walking and more adventurous activities may be included.
Travelling In India
The key to travelling in India is patience! Distances can sometimes be vast, roads are often congested and rustic and time is not necessarily of the essence. With many different options of travel, each will bring with it a different perspective of this fascination country.

India has one of the largest rail networks in the world with over 60,000 kms of tract and 7,000 stations. Travelling by train in India can be an experience in itself and a wonderful way to get in touch with the locals.
Passport & Visas
India: Visa is required for all foreign nationals.
Apply online for a Pre-Approval at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html .The online application should be submitted a minimum of 4 days in advance and a maximum of 30days of the proposed date of travel. TVOA links may also be found in websites of Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Bureau of Immigration, Incredible India etc.
As of 27 Nov 2014 nationals and passport holder of 34 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Finland, Luxem Bourg, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia and Myanmar to name a few, can avail a Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) facility upon disembarking at international airports Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Goa, Hyderabad, Kochi and Trivandrum only. You will require to pay fees along with require documentation and is subject to verification and satisfaction of the Immigration. Please contact High Commission of India for updated information.
Sri Lanka: Every tourist visiting Sri Lanka required visa prior to departure. Visa must be obtained atleast 01 months prior to arrival in Sri Lanka by visiting www.eta.gov.lk The Tourist visa is valid for stay within 30 days. Passport must be valid for at least six months before you commence travel to Sri Lanka. Fee will apply.
Nepal: Visa is required for all foreign nationalities and the best way to apply for visa is from the Royal Nepalese diplomatic missions in your home country. Tourist Visa also can be obtained on arrival. Passport must be valid for at least six months before you commence travel in Nepal. Fee will apply.
Bhutan: All foreign nationals require visa for Bhutan.
Visa can be arranged by TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS. To process this we require clear readable colour copy of passport (page containing passport no and face picture in JPEG or PDF format) and current colour passport photograph and at least 30 days prior to date of entry into Bhutan. Remaining validity of passport should be at least 6 months from the date of exit from Bhutan.
Tourism Council of Bhutan issues visa clearance letter closer to travelling date which we email or fax you or your local travel agent. Travellers are required to produce aforesaid visa clearance copy at the time of check-in for their flights while those entering Bhutan by surface via Phuentsholing or Samdrup Jonkhar, they are required to produce this Visa Clearance letter at the Immigration counter. Actual visa is stamped at passport on arrival in Bhutan.
Visa only service is not offered in Bhutan, you would have to book a service tour package from TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS that includes accommodation, guided tours, transfers etc
Myanmar: Visa is required for all nationalities.
Visa can be arranged by TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS. To process this we require international flight details, clear readable colour copy of passport (page containing passport no and face picture in JPEG or PDF format) and current colour passport photograph and at least 30 days prior to date of entry into Myanmar. Remaining validity of passport should be at least 6 months from the date of exit from Myanmar.

Day 01: Arrive Negombo
Arrive at Colombo International Airport. Please clear immigration & visa formalities, collect your baggage and proceed to the arrival lounge through the green channel if you do not have goods to be declared to customs. TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS Executive will page you by your name. Thereafter you will be assisted with a transfer to the hotel, check in at the hotel and stay overnight in Negombo. (No Meals)
Day 02: Negombo
After breakfast, approximately around 08:30 we meet THO Tour Manager at the lobby for a short briefing he will run through the itinerary, vouchers, some of the do’s and don’ts to make your trip enjoyable and safe.
Later enjoy Negombo City Sightseeing. Negombo is located approximately 30kms north of commercial capital (Colombo) in Sri Lanka. It is located at the mouth of the Negombo lagoon. The wide sandy beaches and the safe sea are the major attractions and much more to see in the city. During the city tour, you can visit Negombo Fish Market & harbor, Dutch church & port, Angurukaramulla Temple, St. Mary’s Church and Hindu Temple. Negombo being a major fishing village in Sri Lanka is a must visit place while you stay in Sri Lanka. You have the opportunity to take a walk among the numerous fish stalls while observing the procedure of Marketing by various people. Quite an experience, the time there will be loud and entertaining! Evening enjoy Welcome Dinnerat the local restaurant in Negombo Stay overnight in Negombo. (B, D)
Day 03: Negombo – Dambulla (Paradise Resort and Spa – Family Rooms)
After breakfast check out of the hotel and drive to the heart of the Cultural Triangle and visit the fabulous Golden Temple at Dambulla (UNESCO World Heritage Site) where the kids can marvel over the huge lion’s mouth! There are five caves here containing approximately 200 statues of Lord Buddha. Afternoon to relax by the pool. Three nights in Dambulla (B, D)
Day 04: Dambulla - Sigiriya & Wildlife
After breakfast we travel to Sigiriya and Climb the iconic Lion Rock (UNESCO World Heritage Site) which stands about 650ft high and was a capital of Sri Lanka in the 5th century and a magnificent rock fortress. There is much to see here including water gardens, mirror wall, frescoes, Cobra cave and lion’s paws which will really grab the children’s imagination. From the top, there are fabulous views of the surrounding countryside and mountains in the distance.
Afternoon proceed for a wildlife safari at Minneriya National Park. The Park is based largely on a huge tank (reservoir) and serves as an important gathering place for Sri Lanka’s large elephant population. Besides elephants, Minneriya is also home to many species of mammals; like the deer, sambur and sloth bear. Thereafter continue your drive to Dambulla. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Stay overnight in Dambulla. (B, D)
Day 05: Dambulla
After breakfast travel to Hiriwaduna to Experience the Village Tour, meet the farmers and their family; learn about their daily life, and the organic and shift farming methods in Sri Lanka. The guided walk goes alongside Hiriwadunna Lake giving an opportunity to spot birds, land monitors as we cross a little jungle rivulet by Catamaran and reach farmers simple “wattle and daub”. The bullock cart ride through the paddy fields would be another very interesting experience that feels like you're travelling back in time when the early Sri Lankans used the bullock cart as the main mode of transportation.
Return to the hotel with rest of the afternoon at leisure or optional at an extra cost enjoy a BIKE RIDE through the villages using small back roads, where you can experience the real Sri Lankan walk of life. You will cycle past a series of man-made lakes where there is very rich bird life and unusual wildlife such as Monitor Lizard, Chameleon and Mongoose etc. Halfway through the ride, you will have refreshments of King Coconut. (B, D)
Day 06: Dambulla – Kandy (Royal Kandyan – Family Rooms)
After breakfast check out and drive towards Kandy (UNESCO World Heritage Site) - this Royal city was the last indigenous capital of Sri Lanka. Kandy is situated about 1500 ft above sea level and is said to be the most picturesque of all the Sri Lankan cities as it nestles in the hills with the Lake at the bottom. On the way, visit a Spice Garden, where you can take a walk around the garden to see how they grow and learn about Ayurvedic medicine. Visit Temple of the tooth relic which is the most visited temple in Sri Lanka and is the only temple in the world with a tooth relic of Buddha. You will visit the Temple during the ceremony to soak up the atmosphere. Watch the Cultural Show these are traditional Sri Lankan dances accompanied by folk music that derived from the Temples. Stay overnight in Kandy(B, D)
Day 07: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya – (St Andrews)
After breakfast travel to Nuwara Eliya (“little England”) through the tea plantations - this is the best drive of your tour where you will see thousands of acres of Tea Plantations and some breath-taking views as you slowly climb up through the hills to get to “little England” which is over 6000 feet above sea level. On the way, you are sure to spot some Tea Pickers and also some Waterfalls. On arrival visit a Tea Factory to see just how tea is produced.
Do a city tour of Nuwara Eliya (this is where the colonials used to escape to when it was too hot on the coastal plains) taking in the highlights – the racecourse, Hill Club (was the center of all colonial life), Gregory’s Lake etc. You will see some of the buildings have a distinctly British feel about them. Overnight at St Andrews Hotel, Nuwara Eliya or similar. (B, D)
Day 08: Nuwara Eliya – Yala (Approx. Travel Time: 05hrs) – (Tamarind Lake)
After breakfast drive to Yala. En-route visits Ella – One of the scenic small villages of Sri Lanka. Famous for the tea plantations, the Ella Gap and Ravana Falls. Continue your drive to Yala on arrival check-in at the hotel. Stay two nights in Yala. (B, D)
Day 09: Yala
We have an early start to enjoy the morning safari at Yala National Park - The most familiar is Block I (14,101 hectares) and this were established in 1938. Yala is famous for its big herds and a large number of Elephants, Leopards, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Crocodiles, Mongoose, Wild Boar, Wild Buffalo, and many other animals. Later return to the hotel for breakfast with rest of the day at leisure (B, D)
Day 10: Yala – Bentota (Centara Ceysands)
The morning after breakfast check out and drive to the South coast and visit the Dutch Fort at Galle. This was originally built in 1589 and is still active and functioning. The highlights here are The Museum, The Dutch Church, The Lighthouse, Clocktower and the Cricket Ground or take a walk round ramparts and imagine the sea battles that must have taken place here. Later continue your drive to Bentota and check in for three nights. (B, D)
Day 11: Bentota
Relax by the beach. Optional visit Turtle Hatchery where you will see some baby turtles that will be released in the sea towards early morning. (B, D)

Day 13: Bentota – Colombo
After breakfast check out of the hotel and travel to Colombo. On arrival enjoy the city sightseeing in Colombo and visit the residential areas where you find the stately homes of the affluent, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, the New Parliament in Sri Jayewardenepura, the Folk Art Centre, Art Galleries, Parks, Independence Square, the Ceramic Corporation famous for its well-known shopping malls.
In the Evening enjoy farewell Dinner at the Raja Bojun restaurant. The art of gastronomy or simply called as Food is the main attraction for Sri Lanka. With spices, varieties of vegetables, different styles of cooking, Sri Lankan food make everyone fall in love with food in a short time. This dinner at a local restaurant specializes in Sri Lankan menus where you can select any food from the Buffet and dine as much as you want to. Various types of dishes are kept ready for you and you can keep you taste-buds alive with the pure Sri Lankan dishes. After dinner transfer to the international airport to board a flight home. (B)
