International Flights

The tour packages are usually “Land Only” and do not include international flights.  We therefore recommend that you contact us or your travel agent to book your flights well in advance of travel, when you can generally gain access to specials and discounted airfares. This will ensure you can travel on the days that suit you and your tour.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is compulsory on all of our journeys. Speak to us or your travel agent about comprehensive insurance to cover your travel arrangements. This must critically cover medical expenses in case of an emergency.  Note that travel insurance automatically provided with credit cards generally does not provide adequate cover. Its your responsibility to ensure that you have appropriate and comprehensive travel insurance.

Medical Information

Our elderly travellers who are aged 70 years or more, or with a per-existing condition that affects their fitness to travel or any medical dietary requirement, must be advised at the time of booking. We recommend all travellers should visit their Doctor for these aforementioned purposes and/or to confirm that they are physically able to undertake the day-to-day requirements of the tour.

Selecting Your Holiday Type

Most of our journeys are suited to those with normal fitness and mobility levels. To assist you in choosing a journey best for you we have graded our tours;

Easy Paced: These programs are set at a comfortable pace. Walking and climbing of stairs involved is generally in and around major tourist attractions though you may require walking from road till boat jetty while embarking or disembarking boats.

Moderate: These tours are not strenuous but you will require good amount of fitness as they may include days with long periods of walking or soft trekking, climbing of stairs, embarking and disembarking boats and where longer distances may be travelled by uneven roads.

Adventurous: These refer to programs where your physical fitness needs to be on highest level. Trekking, cycling, climbing, walking and more adventurous activities may be included.

Getting Around

Comfort is our first priority. All our coaches are air-conditioned with push back seats. We even offer 30-35 seater coach when only 16 people are in a group, providing everyone a window seats. Our train journeys in air-conditioning sleeper class where bedding is provided by the train attendant and itineraries that include domestic flight to connect destination we use economy class.

Passport & Visas

India: Visa is required for all foreign nationals. 

Apply online for a Pre-Approval at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html .The online application should be submitted a minimum of 4 days in advance and a maximum of 30days of the proposed date of travel. TVOA links may also be found in websites of Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Bureau of Immigration, Incredible India etc.

As of 27 Nov 2014 nationals and passport holder of 34 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Finland, Luxem Bourg, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia and Myanmar to name a few,  can avail a Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) facility upon disembarking at international airports Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Goa, Hyderabad, Kochi and Trivandrum only. You will require to pay fees along with require documentation and is subject to verification and satisfaction of the Immigration. Please contact High Commission of India for updated information.

Sri Lanka: Every tourist visiting Sri Lanka required visa prior to departure. Visa must be obtained atleast 01 months prior to arrival in Sri Lanka by visiting www.eta.gov.lk The Tourist visa is valid for stay within 30 days. Passport must be valid for at least six months before you commence travel to Sri Lanka. Fee will apply.

Nepal: Visa is required for all foreign nationalities and the best way to apply for visa is from the Royal Nepalese diplomatic missions in your home country. Tourist Visa also can be obtained on arrival. Passport must be valid for at least six months before you commence travel in Nepal. Fee will apply.

Bhutan: All foreign nationals require visa for Bhutan.

Visa can be arranged by TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS. To process this we require clear readable colour copy of passport (page containing passport no and face picture in JPEG or PDF format) and current colour passport photograph and at least 30 days prior to date of entry into Bhutan. Remaining validity of passport should be at least 6 months from the date of exit from Bhutan.

Tourism Council of Bhutan issues visa clearance letter closer to travelling date which we email or fax you or your local travel agent. Travellers are required to produce aforesaid visa clearance copy at the time of check-in for their flights while those entering Bhutan by surface via Phuentsholing or Samdrup Jonkhar, they are required to produce this Visa Clearance letter at the Immigration counter. Actual visa is stamped at passport on arrival in Bhutan.

Visa only service is not offered in Bhutan, you would have to book a service tour package from TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS that includes accommodation, guided tours, transfers etc

Myanmar: Visa is required for all nationalities.

Visa can be arranged by TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS. To process this we require international flight details, clear readable colour copy of passport (page containing passport no and face picture in JPEG or PDF format) and current colour passport photograph and at least 30 days prior to date of entry into Myanmar. Remaining validity of passport should be at least 6 months from the date of exit from Myanmar.

Day 01: Arrive Delhi 

On arrival at the airport, meet your Tour Executive who will assist you to transfer to the hotel for two nights stay in Delhi. (No Meals)


Day 02: Delhi 

After breakfast meet your tour manager at the hotel lobby for a short briefing, highlighting the main features of tour, followed by guided sightseeing tour at Old & New Delhi. Begin with  Old Delhi with a drivepass Red Fort Palace to reach Jama Masjid - the largest mosque in India built in red sandstone. Between the mosque and Chandni Chowk is a narrow shop-lined street along which you will be transported by cycle rickshaws on your most photogenic journey of the tour. Visit International Dolls Museum (Closed on Monday), which has one of the largest collection of costume dolls anywhere in the world & will take you to your childhood days. Afternoon explore New Delhi, which will include photo opportunities at some of the following attractions - the exterior of the Parliament House, the War Memorial Arch (India Gate) and residence of the President of India in New Delhi. Conclude your day with visit to Qutub Minar; being one of the most important landmarks of Delhi, with calligraphically decorated interiors and also inscriptions of verses of the Holy Quran. Stay overnight in Delhi. (B, D)


Day 03: Delhi – Jaipur 

After leisurely breakfast checkout from the hotel and drive to Jaipur. The first planned city of India, is a treasure-trove of culture, art and history, famous for its colour, lifestyle and Rajasthani cuisine. It is a city exuding royal heritage and extravagant richness. The historic city also has many temples and shrines. On your arrival at Jaipur, check-into the hotel.

After brief rest, Indulge in an evening out, Jaipur-style! From the city’s most spectacular monuments to athrilling  tuk-tuk journey through the magical by-lanes of the Pink City, to an authentic Bollywood experience and traditional Rajasthani feast. Enjoy the evening as the local do, travel by Tuk- tuk there’s no better way to experience the crazy traffic of India. This Jaipur tour will have you riding the city’s famous routes while your local guide recalls its stories and legends. Your ever-enthusiastic tuk-tuk driver will drop you off at the Raj Mandir, a beautifully designed and intricately decorated theatre often referred to as the Pride of Asia. Before taking in a Bollywood film, you’ll enjoy samosa with chilled lassi or Chai and a local delicacy called meetha paan, caramelized betel leaf with betel nut and aniseed. Later you’ll escape into the world of Bollywood song and dance, a truly local experience you’ll never forget. After the movie, you’ll head to one of Jaipur’s popular local restaurants to taste traditional Mughlai-Rajputana feast.  Later return to the hotel. Stay overnight in Jaipur. (B, D)


Day 04: Jaipur 

Morning pick-up from hotel and proceed for guided sightseeing of Jaipur. Start your day with an excursion to the majestic Amber Fort with a photo stop at Hawa Mahal. Admire the facade of the Hawa Mahal, poetically known as the “Palace of Winds”. Continue to Amber Fort, the former ancient capital of Jaipur state built by Raja Man Singh, the Rajput commander of Akbar's army, which is a superb example of Rajput architecture. Ascend the fort by shared Jeep. Later proceed for guided tour of Jaipur city starting with City Palace Museum; boasts to have some of the priceless handwritten Hindu scriptures of the ancient past, miniature delicate paintings, preserved painted ceilings and the elephant saddles (haudas), and is registered in the  Guinness Book of Records to contain the biggest silver objects in the world. Conclude your sightseeing with a visit to Jantar Mantar; one of the famed observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh is a complex of astronomical instruments, chiseled out of stone which provides fairly accurate information to this day.

The remaining day is at leisure for you to explore the Jaipur Bazaar. Enjoy hunting through the colorful and chaotic streets, shopping for souvenirs likesilverjewellery, precious and semi-precious stones such as diamonds,topazand emeralds, embroidered clothing and quilts, block printed textiles, lacquered brass work, leather footwear, miniature marble carvings and blue potteries.Besidesshopping one can also watch the skillful artisans at work. While walking down the lanes you will also witness the cultural heritage of the city unfolding a legacy of the royal past. Stay overnight in Jaipur. (B, D)


Day 05: Jaipur – Ranthambore 

After breakfast at the hotel in Jaipur, drive to Ranthambore. Ranthambore wildlife sanctuary is known for its tigers and is one of the best places in India to see these animals in their natural jungle habitat. Tigers can be easily spotted even in the daytime. The park's deciduous forests are characteristic examples of the type of jungle found in Central India. Other major wild animals include leopard, nilgai, wild boar, sambar, hyena, sloth bear and chital. The sanctuary is home to a wide variety of trees, plants, birds and reptiles, as well as one of the largest banyan trees in India. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure for independent activities. Stay overnight at Ranthambore. (B, L, D)

Day 06: Ranthambore 

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drive in the Ranthambore National Park; one of the biggest and most  renowned National Parks in Northern India. The park is located in the Sawai Madhopur district of South-eastern Rajasthan, which is about 130 km from Jaipur. Being considered as one of the famous and former hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur, today the Ranthambore National Park terrain major wildlife tourist attraction spot that has pulled the attention of many wildlife photographers and lovers in this destination. The park is spread over an area of 1,334 sq km and majorly famous for its tigers and is one of the best locations in India to see the majestic predators in its natural habitat amongst many other reptiles, birds and wild animals. Lunch, Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel. (B, L, D)

(Ranthambore National Park remains closed from 01 July to 30th September every year. Game drives are scheduled between 0630–0930 AM & 0230 – 0530 PM, visitors are strictly advised to follow the guidelines of the national park and the wildlife tourist guide)


Day 07: Ranthambore – Agra 

After breakfast drive to Agra, home to India's most famous landmark, the Taj Mahal. A poem of white marble, the Taj  is described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love. On arrival check into the hotel. Later enjoy the city tour of Agra. Begin with Agra Fort; built by Emperor Akbar, its construction commenced in 1565 and was completed in 1571. It is built with red sandstone and is a mixture of the Islamic and Hindu styles of architecture. Conclude your day with visit to Itimad-Ud-Daulah, the first tomb to be built in white marble instead of red sandstone which marks the departure from the red sandstone buildings of Mughal architecture. This memorial was built by the Mughal Emperor Jehangir’s queen as a memorial to her father. The tombs sheer beauty will surprise you - the only reason it does not get more accolades is because it shares the stage with the incomparable Taj Mahal. Like the Taj it has amazingly intricate ‘Pietra Dura’ inlay and lattice marble screens. The mausoleum rests in a walled garden with a view of the river Yamuna. Constructed in the year 1628, most historians believe that its design provided the inspiration for the Taj Mahal.

If time permits, explore the colorful markets of Agra which is known for its fabulous marble made handicrafts and soft stone inlay work. Come across the 3 Dimensional thread work of Zardozi which is famed ancient art. Learn about local perfumes “Itar” withdifferent aroma. While exploring these markets of Sadar Bazar, Kinari Bazar, Raja-ki-Mandi, etc. you also come across the famous sweet of Agra – “PETHA. Stay overnight in Agra. (B, D)


Day 08: Agra – Cochin 

Early morning visit Taj Mahal(Closed on Friday) - the epitome of love, stands on the banks of the river Yamuna built in the 17th century by the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan. The Taj attracts millions of tourists from all over the world. To experience the beauty of this architectural marvel, it needs to be viewed at different times of the day and year. The white marble building changes its hue with the variations in the daylight. Made entirely of white marble and decorated with exquisite pietra dura (stone inlay) work, different types of precious and semi-precious stones were used in the intricate inlay work done on the interiors. This magnificent monument is built around a Charbagh or ’fourgarden’ plan, split by watercourses— reflects the influence of Persian architectural style. On return enjoy a short ride on Tonga experiencing the old transportation system which still plays a vital role in some of the Indianlanes / roads. After the sightseeing return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, drive straight to Delhi airport to board flight for Cochin. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. Stay overnight in Cochin. (B, D)


Day 09: Cochin 

Visit St. Francis Church, the first church to be built in India by Vasco-de-Gama; the Jewish synagogue, Chinese fishing nets and take a ferry ride. Evening enjoy a Kathakali Dance performance in the local theatre. (B, D)


Day 10: Cochin – Kumarakom 

After breakfast, drive to Kumarakom. The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands that have been converted into a number of tourist resorts and is a part of the Kuttanad region. Kumarakom is an unbelievably beautiful paradise. The blue backwaters and a surface of Vembanad Lake reflect the azure sky. The amazing shades of green of the vegetation that include mangroves, coconut palms and paddy fields cover the verdant countryside. Channels and waterways wind their way through this green paradise. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure for independent activities. Stay overnight at Kumarakom. (B, D)
